Kwik Stage is a popular modular scaffolding system known for its quick and easy assembly. Key horizontal components include ledgers and transoms.

Ledgers run longitudinally along the scaffold, connecting the vertical standards. They establish the length of the bay and provide horizontal support, also often serving as guardrails.

Transoms are positioned transversely, at right angles to the ledgers, connecting standards across the width. They form the platform’s width, directly supporting scaffold boards (battens) and ensuring the scaffold’s rigidity.

Both ledgers and transoms feature wedge-fixing mechanisms that lock into V-pressings on the standards, creating a secure and stable structure.
