Starter Collar – Base Collar
A starter collar, also known as a base collar, is a fundamental component in a ring lock scaffolding system. It serves as the crucial link between the base of the scaffold (often a base jack or a base plate) and the first vertical standards (uprights).
The base collar typically features a single rosette, which is the multi-directional connection point characteristic of ring lock systems. This rosette allows for the initial horizontal ledgers and other components to be securely and easily connected at the base level, providing a stable and level starting point for the entire scaffold structure. In essence, it’s the “starter” that allows the rest of the ring lock system to be built upwards
